● EU REGULATION — ACTIVE

REACH pre-screened in seconds — not surfacing weeks after you sign.

Every chemical swap that touches the EU triggers REACH registration checks, SVHC screening and Annex XIV and XVII restriction reviews. Michael's ARCO module runs the full pre-screen automatically, before anyone signs the deal.

Why It's Not Optional

The stakes of getting REACH wrong

Manual review effort
By hand

Compliance and legal teams work through registration status, SVHC lists and restriction annexes the traditional way: one register at a time, by hand.

SVHC candidate list
253 substances

On the ECHA Candidate List as of February 2026. ECHA updates the list about twice a year. Any substance you trade could join the list without warning.

Notification threshold
>0.1% w/w

Notification and supply-chain communication obligations trigger above this SVHC concentration in articles (REACH Art. 7(2) and Art. 33).

A pre-screen, not a ruling. ARCO screens swaps against published regulatory and sanctions lists and gates the workflow on the result. It is not a legal determination, a regulatory filing, or a substitute for your compliance function's formal sign-off.

How ARCO Handles It

The REACH pre-screen pipeline, automated

For every commodity with a CAS number, ARCO runs a deterministic three-step check against published ECHA data before a swap can proceed.

01

CAS number lookup

Identify the substance in the ECHA CHEM database and retrieve its registration status, tonnage band, and classification.

02

SVHC & restriction check

Cross-reference against the SVHC Candidate List, the Authorisation List (Annex XIV), and the Restriction List (Annex XVII). Any match triggers a flag for manual review.

CACHE TTL: 6 HOURS · LIST UPDATED BIANNUALLY
03

Pre-screen result recorded

ARCO records the result as a hashed compliance snapshot. It is valid for 72 hours. After that, the swap needs a new screen.

EXPIRY: 72 HOURS

What You'll See

Three possible outcomes, every time

No dashboards to interpret, no databases to cross-reference by hand. Just a pre-screen result, with the full audit trail behind it if you need it.

CLEARED

Registration current, no SVHC/restriction match. Swap proceeds through the lifecycle.

PENDING

A match that needs a compliance officer's review. Or a data source at its cache boundary.

BLOCKED

Substance under an Annex XIV authorisation sunset. Or an Annex XVII use restriction applies.
